Stop Being Paid For Your Time

Jun 3, 2025

If you are paid for your time, then the only time you make money is when you are working.

If you are paid for your time, then the only time you make money is when you are working.

At first glance, that sounds like common sense, but consider this...

If you could choose between owning and asset that makes you money even when you are not working and only getting paid when you clock in, which would you choose?

The industrial age brought us the factory worker and that model left a deep stamp on the psyche of the everyday American.

It goes like this.

The factory owner makes a deal:

"You work at my factory every week and I'll pay you every week."

Sounds amazing, right?

  • Never have to worry about the next paycheck.

  • When you clock out, you don't have to think about work until the next morning.

  • You get 1-2 full days a week off to do whatever you want. (Well, as long as what's left in your bank account can afford it.)

The burden of running the family business was replaced with the security of the predictable paycheck.

But it came at a cost. And today the vast majority of Americans pay the cost, without even realizing it.

What's the cost? Your chances of creating enough wealth to give you and your family financial freedom are extremely limited.

And that's an understatement. There's a reason the vast majority of Americans with a net worth of >$2 million own assets instead of jobs.

Think of all the wealthy people you know (personally or publicly). No, not doctors and lawyers. Having a high-paying job with 10 years of debt is not wealth, nor is it freedom.

I mean people who at the drop of a hat could buy an investment property, fly to Singapore and hire a team of staff, or do ministry the rest of their life for free.

How many of those wealthy people have a regular job?

Better question: how many of them do not own assets.

I bet you can't find one.

Jeff Bezos. Elon Musk. Warren Buffet. They made their wealth buying or building assets.

Here is the power of an asset: it makes you money even when you are not working.

Instead of getting paid for your time, like you do at a 9-to-5, your asset pays you because of its worth.

Put another way, money works for you instead of you working for money.

I used to invest in real estate. I had a dozen properties at one point. Each property generated revenue whether or not I was at the property. In fact, some of these properties I never even visited.

I just hired someone to manage it for me.

So instead of spending 15 years building homes, advertising them on the market, renting them out, and managing the tenants, I used cash to do it for me within a matter of months.

That is the power of an asset.

When you work for a paycheck, you are the asset. Which means when you get tired, need to go him because you feel sick, or simply run out of hours in the day, you cannot make more money.

Your income potential at a 9-to-5 is capped by a ceiling called time.

But an asset exists apart from you.

Which means the asset can make money for you even when you are not working.

Why is this such a big deal?

Because of all the assets on planet earth, whether it be real estate, bonds, farmland, storage units, franchises, peer-to-peer lending, bitcoin, or stocks, I am still waiting for someone to prove to me that there is an asset that can make you more money for less cost than a digital education business.

I'm talking about creating a course, putting it on the market, and making money selling it, even while you sleep.

That is the beauty of the course business.

And that is why I teach men who love Jesus how to build their own course business.
Did you know that 46% of Americans are in credit card debt?

And 27% of Americans have no savings.

And yet out of 195 countries, 38% of multi millionaires live in the United States. One out of 195 countries holds almost half of all multi-millionaires!

Conclusion? America is by far the best country for building wealth and yet at the same time, hundreds of millions of Americans live as if it were not so.

Don't be that person. You can build wealth starting today.

And the coolest part? You already have the product. You just need to turn that expertise in your brain into a course so people can buy it.

If you want to learn how it works, here's a video I put together, breaking it down in 8 steps: How to Start an Online Course Business in 2025 (For Beginners)
